Our metabolism, body and mental health change as we age. Yoga off the mat and into the kitchen looks like listening to your body and learning new ways to feed your Anamayakosha, your food body - so you can continue to thrive and stay active!
Meet Our Founder
I’m on a Mission to Change the Way We Perceive Yoga, Mental Health and Well Being.
Hey, I’m Aline. Aline Marie B.A., E-R.Y.T., L.M.T.
Focus: studio guardian/founder/owner, trauma informed, anatomy based asana, functional movement, lead trainer.
I started out as a classically trained artist with a B.A. in Illustration & fine art through Western Connecticut State University with short stints at The Academy of Art in San Francisco, Southern Connecticut State University and the School of Visual Art in Manhattan. I learned to marry the art and yoga by becoming the first artist in the country to professionally paint bespoke original art yoga mats (there’s over 600 out in the world!). I am a yoga teacher “ by accident” and have been teaching yoga for over 20+ years nationally and internationally. I trained at the esteemed Kripalu Institute under Devarshi Steven Hartman and Megha Nancy Buttenhiem circa 2006 but was teaching way before I had my formal training. I specialize in adaptive, anatomically focused and forward based yoga for mainstream populations, athletes, injury and pain recovery, and special populations, including PTSD, ADHD, OCD, and individuals on the autistic spectrum. From 2018 - 2019 I was fortunate to learn from Dr. David Grand for a short time about Brainspotting and how to share a modified yoga integrated accessible format to gently support nervous system healing and deeper trauma resolution.
2021 - 2023 I discovered MBSR and became a Qualified Level 1 Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher through Brown University. I incorporate mindfulness practices into all my classes in some degree and offer private 8-week MBSR courses, and corporate programs. First born daughter/over achiever from 2009 - 2011 I trained at the former International Professional School of Body Work in San Diego and became a licensed massage therapist. I learned all the modalities but fell in love with Therapeutic Thai Yoga Massage.
