Flexibility

We hear often, “ I can’t do yoga because I can’t touch my toes.” We can help you get there, but know, it’s about so much more than touching your toes! The first step is to take a luxury stretch class or join our Foundations alignment and beginner series.

Strength

Yoga & fitness are cumulative practices. Body strength is built by over time, with repetition, mindful muscle activation and focus. Where the body goes, the mind follows, where the mind goes the body follows.

Consistency

Consistency is a love language and the nature of neural pathways in the brain. Neurons that fire together, wire together! The more regularly you show up the faster your progress and the more lasting your results.

“NYC Yoga offers a safe and welcoming space to practice yoga. With a variety of classes available, you can easily adjust your practice to match your skill level, energy, and abilities. The studio takes a holistic approach to well-being, creating an environment that nurtures both body and mind. Aline and her team are knowledgeable, highly trained, and bring kindness and compassion to every class. They have built a truly special community that embraces everyone, regardless of experience or ability. It’s a beautiful and inclusive place to deepen your practice and find balance.” -Kris Szabo

“I discovered the Newtown Yoga Center during the pandemic when they offered outdoor classes at Castle Hill Farm. Aline has created a welcoming, peaceful, and supportive community for yogis of all levels. Every pose is an invitation, not a requirement, and she encourages you to listen to your body. I’ve never felt more comfortable resting in child’s pose when needed. Highly recommend this studio for anyone looking to practice yoga - new or experienced - there's something in it for you!.” -Laura C.

“My sister and I both began our yoga journey with Aline about 6 years ago in her beautiful, peaceful studio. We started with the beginners class not knowing if we could do this or if we would even like it. 6 years later, here we are, 3 mornings a week, loving it. We have gained so much flexibility, strength, and balance in our bodies and love our practice in a community of kindness and peace that the Newtown Yoga Center provides. Aline’s teaching skills are very strong yet her voice is so gentle and calming. She adapts each class to fit all levels and there is no judgement here. In her words…the hardest part of yoga is getting there. We always look forward to class and always leave smiling. This place is bursting with awesomeness!!!” -Laura Smolen
